As the Operations Manager, Josh Jones oversees the planning, management, and manufacturing of all coatings’ production activities at Marcus Paint Company. In addition, Josh participates in various special projects, and safety/quality teams and provides support for facility maintenance. Josh began his career at Marcus in December 2009, initially as a Production Technician. He was promoted to Production Supervisor before moving into his current role.
When I first applied to Marcus, I was just looking for another job after my prior employer abruptly closed. I was already familiar with Marcus because I had been working in a similar role at another paint manufacturer that was just down the street.
But after I began working here, I realized this would be a place that offered more than just a job – with stability, opportunities for growth, and continuous learning. I’m using my skillsets to solve problems throughout various areas of the organization, while also being a valuable contributor by leading the Production team and activities.
I find it very rewarding to take raw materials that individually don’t make anything but when combined, it creates useful products and provides solutions. It’s important to me to enjoy the type of work I’m doing in a positive environment. Marcus embodies that philosophy by creating a culture that is receptive to ideas, appreciates individual strengths, and builds teams to consistently create quality products.
Our leadership is committed to building success to create a family atmosphere and supports its employees with great benefits and work-life balance. It’s fulfilling to be part of an organization that has been around for almost 170 years and know that my efforts will continue to build the company’s longevity for years to come.
For those who never considered a career in this industry, I would encourage them to try something different and discover endless opportunities.
